Not suitable for refreezing
Why is this product not suitable for refreezing?
We freeze our products before shipping to ensure maximum freshness and quality. However, once thawed, they should not be refrozen. Here's why:
1. Food Safety First
When products are thawed, bacteria can begin to grow if kept at temperatures above 4°C. Refreezing increases the risk of contamination and can compromise the safety of the food.
2. Preserving Quality
The texture and flavor of seitan and tempeh can change when frozen and thawed. Refreezing can further degrade these qualities, leading to a less satisfying experience.
3. Previously Frozen
Our products have already been frozen to extend their shelf life and reduce waste. Refreezing them could negatively impact both their safety and quality.
How to Handle and Store Your Product
To get the most out of our products, follow these simple guidelines:
- Refrigeration: Store the product in your refrigerator (below 4°C) and consume it within 3-5 days.
- Portion and Cook: If you don't plan to use the entire product immediately, portion it and cook only what you need. Cooked portions can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 additional days.
- Keep it Fresh: Always store the product in airtight packaging to maintain its quality.
Why We Freeze Our Products
Freezing is an eco-conscious practice that helps us extend the shelf life of our products while minimizing food waste. This ensures that you receive the best quality seitan and tempeh, ready for you to enjoy.
